Sift Architecture is a studio practice in Chicago led by Jerry Blanchard.
Jerry has fifteen years of professional experience in a broad range of projects including adaptive reuse, educational, institutional, and residential work of varying scales and locations in the South and Midwest. He is originally from southeast Louisiana, a diverse corner of the world where architecture, culture, and landscape are uniquely entwined. His formative experiences there and participation in the post-Katrina planning and rebuilding efforts profoundly shaped his design ethos and led to his particular sensibility and interest in reusing and repurposing existing structures.
He founded Sift Architecture to pursue meaningful work and long-term relationships by offering clients a direct, personable experience through the design process. While operating as a sole proprietor, his partnership with Boston-based Local Studio allows for capacity to take on larger, more complex projects in different geographic regions. The practice offers full architectural professional services.
Jerry holds a Master of Architecture from Tulane University. He is a registered architect in Illinois, Michigan, and Louisiana, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
