GIBSON hall

As the oldest structure on Tulane University’s uptown campus, Gibson Hall has endured for over a century, and its interiors have undergone many iterations and uses over those years. This recent project is a renovation of the financial aid offices located on the basement level. Custom millwork and cabinetry components, used to define the spaces, are designed to be modern and visually light against the exposed masonry structure. This language of old and new, heavy and light, is a nod to the building’s history, longevity and adaptability, and the refreshed space can now properly serve the next phase in the continuum of its long life.

The project was completed with MZ. Architecture and professional photography is by Neil Alexander.
