WOOLEN MILL LOFT

Challenged with opening up and allowing more daylight into the first floor living space, this two-story condo renovation includes structural modifications for a new second floor opening, a new open stair, and concealment of the previously exposed mechanical ductwork into the ceiling cavity. A minimal kitchen seamlessly integrates into the living space and is reoriented to face the exterior courtyard. Areas of gypsum furred walls have been removed to expose the original steel and masonry of this landmark woolen mill structure in Minneapolis, MN.

This project was completed in 2018 with MSR Design, and professional photography is by Alyssa Lee.
